MUMBAI, India - June 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Transasia Bio-Medicals Ltd. has always stood for the cause of the society.

Every year, World Blood Donor Day (celebrated on 14^th June) is an occasion when you get to see Transasians living up to the company spirit and enthusiastically doing their bit for the society!

As part of corporate social responsibility inititaves, for the last four years, Transasia has been organizing blood donation drives in association with Think Foundation and Sir J. J Mahanagar Blood Bank. This year the blood donation drive was held on 6^th  June'13. More than 65 Transasians came forward to donate blood all through the day at its Head Office in Mumbai.

Globally, World Blood Donors Day is celebrated to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary donors for their life saving gift of life.

Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions, live longer and with high quality of life. However, in many countries, there is an inadequate supply of safe blood, and blood services face the challenge of making sufficient blood available, while also ensuring its quality and safety.

The focus of this year's campaign – the 10^th anniversary of World Blood Donors Day- was 'blood donation as a gift that saves lives'.
