BRO channel delivers live coverage of UAAP season 76 worldwide

Overseas Filipinos root for their favorite teams from the Philippines’ top universities

QUEZON CITY, Philippines - June 28, 2013 - PRLog -- After taking viewers worldwide to the ringside of boxing event Pinoy Pride XX, The Filipino Channel’s 24-hour network catering to the programming needs of male overseas Filipinos (OFs), BRO Channel, scores with another much-awaited coverage -– the 76th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).    Hosted this year by Adamson University, Season 76 centers on the theme “Greatness never ends,” and once again gathers eight of the biggest schools in the Philippines to battle it out for 16 varying sports disciplines, with basketball as the kick-off and centerpiece event.

BRO brings OFs this time to the courtside of the fierce competition for school pride amongst UAAP member schools, spearheaded by defending champion Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles, along with last year’s runner-up University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers; Adamson University Soaring Falcons; De La Salle University Green Archers; Far Eastern University Tamaraws; National University Bulldogs; University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons; and University of the East Red Warriors.

Starting on June 29, BRO will be airing the much-awaited basketball matches live across TFC platforms: internet protocol TV (IPTV); satellite; cable; mobile and online (TFC.tv).

Since 2011, BRO has been airing the biggest sporting events in the Philippines, including UAAP’s basketball matches and cheer dance competition.  Last year, BRO delivered all the games live from the elimination rounds to the Final Four and up to the Finals round of UAAP 75 with the Ateneo Blue Eagles bagging the much-coveted crown.  UAAP’s history of intense game matches has made the competition the most widely discussed on TFC facebook pages worldwide and the most anticipated program on BRO.

Aside from pitting the largest universities in one avenue, UAAP has become the platform for developing the finest athletes in the Philippines.  Popular alumni include James Yap and Chris Tiu for basketball.  For cheer dance, the U.P. Pep Squad has also carved a name for itself even in the Philippine entertainment industry.

Aside from basketball and cheer dance, the eight universities will also battle it out for volleyball, football, baseball, and other sports.
