NEW ORLEANS - June 27, 2013 - PRLog -- For nearly two decades in New Orleans, LA music and entertainment industry's biggest and brightest stars gather at Essence Festival.  It has been deemed the ultimate "party with a purpose" hosting a wide array of speakers and panel discussions on a wide range of topics in addition to the best of the best performances in the New Orleans Superdome.

Essence hasn't been traditionally known for drawing a teen crowd until last year's youth empowerment day and "New & Next Concert" which brought young   talents like Diggy Simmons, The OMG Girlz and CoCo Jones to New Orleans. This year while anticipating the event, local teen author Tori Turner decided to join the "philan-thro party" and give children and teens an opportunity to get involved in more than just the concerts.

Turner joined forces with Black Celebrity Giving to support their Spring community service campaign - "The Giving Boutique" and will host "Calling Teens to Action - Skate For The Cause event sponsored by her company T Star Entertainment, Delphine Publications, and Black Celebrity Giving on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 7pm – 11pm at Skate Country, 1100 Terry Pkwy, Terrytown, LA.   Tickets are currently on sale at www.skate4cause.eventbrite.com and will also be sold at the door for $8.  One half of all proceeds will purchase new clothing for homeless children and teens across the U.S.

Recording artist Sharve' of Houston, TX has answered the call to action and will perform her debut single at event.  Sharve' was recently signed to Visionworld Entertainment and the management of Wayne "Brainchild" Anderson.

Also answering the call to action is fifteen year old author Stone Erickson. Erickson is the author of teen sci-fi thriller "Black Angel."  Turner and Erickson are two of the youngest published authors in the country.  Erickson wrote his first full length novel at twelve years old and was offered a published deal at fourteen.

Turner's book "When I Decided to D.R.E.A.M. BIG" along with Erickson's "Black Angel" will be on sale at the Essence Festival Book Store in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  As a 2013 featured author, you can also find Turner at the official Essence Festival book signings at 2pm on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in the convention center.
