Hip Hop Legends To Honor Streetball Legend Waliyy Mainevent Dixon

NEW YORK - June 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Saturday, June 22, 2013 was a pivotal moment for Hip Hop, spotlighting the achievements of Hip Hop Legends. Hundreds of people attended Baruch College for this amazing event.  Among those were Lovebug Starski, Biz Markie, DJ Marley Marl, DJ Johnny Juice, Roxanne Shante, Big Daddy Kane, Kid 'n' Play, Bussy Bee, Leaders of the New School and many more.

Honoring Hip Hop Legends Awards was the brainchild of Tito Dones, himself a legendary MC from the pioneering group, the Fearless Four. Team Fearless wants the community at large to celebrate hip-hop's contributions to American culture.

This year Team Fearless added a special sports category to highlight the contributions athletes make within the community.  Wally “MainEvent” Dixon a Streetball Pioneer and CEO of BallForLife received the first Hip Hop Legends Honoree for 2013.

Streetball Pioneers, MainEvent and Shane TheDribblingMachine founded Ball for Life in 1999 as an opportunity to give back to the local communities. In prior years, MainEvent was a founding member of the AND1 Mixtape Tour, a sports marketing tour that served as a promotional vehicle for AND1 apparel.
