Sunrise Chevrolet is Dedicated to Helping Senior Drivers

GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Ill. - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Sunrise Chevrolet, a Glendale Heights car dealership, recently held a Senior Car Care Clinic at the Glendale Heights Senior Center. The dealership regularly donates their time and energy to giving back to the community. They have offered this even before and plan on holding another similar event later in the year.

As drivers get older, many of their abilities start to diminish. Routine operations like making a left turn at a light can become very difficult. There are ways of coping with this and methods of improving driving ability even while older. When senior citizens drive cars that aren’t properly maintained, though, they run an even larger risk of being involved in dangerous crashes.

Sunrise Chevrolet partnered with the Universal Technical Institute to hold a Senior Car Care Clinic at the Glendale Heights Senior Center on May 18^th. The event lasted from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During the event, our dealership and UTI performed basic inspections on seniors’ vehicles. For each vehicle, the air pressure in the tires was also adjusted and fluids were topped off. These inspections were completely free to those who attended the event.

In addition to the inspection, Sunrise Chevrolet also tried to educated seniors on the importance of proper vehicle maintenance. Inspection sheets were handed out illuminating common safety issues and when to schedule regular maintenance. Sunrise Chevrolet also extended an offer of service discounts to all of the seniors in attendance for any issues that were detected at their dealership service center.

The event was very successful, and Sunrise Chevrolet was pleased to be able to help local seniors. The dealership is planning on having another event later in the year, most likely in October.
