WOODLAND PARK, Colo. - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- “A Company with a heart,” is the way one of the first patrons of a brand new non-profit corporation described Flag of Our Fathers, Ltd, when he purchased his new flag and flagpole from Woodland Park, Colorado’s newest non-profit corporation.

Jack & Shelley Johnson started the company, a 501(c)(3), in response to a desire to do something more than occasionally volunteering to support our wounded military.

Flag of Our Fathers dedicates 100% of its profits to the Warrior Foundation and Fisher House.  “Our patrons will be taking a personal role in that effort when they purchase their flag or flag related accessory from our website,” said Shelley Johnson.

Jack Johnson was a member of the famed Navy Blue Angel Flight Demonstration Squadron when he was on active duty, and there is a saying among the Blues that goes something like this: “Once a Blue Angel, always a Blue Angel.”

He said that there is more to this idea than just voicing the phrase.  “Besides the obvious reasons for belonging to this unique fraternity, many current and ex-Blue Angels actively support the Blue Angels Foundation, which in turn supports Warrior Foundation- Freedom Station.”

These volunteers and their supporters commit both time and financial support to the Foundation for the express purpose of assisting, honoring and supporting the military men and women who have so bravely served and sacrificed for our country in a variety of ways.

Jack and Shelley Johnson visited the Blue Angel Foundation’s website and noted; “Warrior Foundation Freedom Station provides quality-of-life items and support services designed to assist our wounded and their families during recovery.”

“It does so in its unique recovery transition centre and housing facility that provides injured warriors with the acclimation time, guidance and resources to successfully make the transition from military service to civilian life,” he added.  “We Vow To Be A Hand Up Not A Hand Out...is their motto, and it was clear; this was a perfect fit for us.”

When you talk to the Johnsons about their commitment to this endeavour, it’s easy to get caught up in their enthusiasm. They are not only doing something in which they believe, they are offering the public an opportunity to do something positive and patriotic by proudly exhibiting the country’s flag, and at the same time supporting the nation’s injured service men and women.

When you visit www.flagofourfathers.us, you will find every description of flag and banner you can imagine. They are made by Annin Flag Makers, a 166-year old American company based in Roseland, New Jersey.

“Interestingly, I found that Annin’s flags flew over the Argonne Offensive, the Battle of Guadalcanal, and from the top of Mt. Suribachi to the surface of the moon,” Jack Johnson said.

“Visit the website when you are ready to buy your next flag. In doing so, you will be doing something good for yourself, and something even better for our troops” according to the Johnsons.
