Going Global for World FM Day 2013

On Thursday 27 June 2013, World FM Day takes place for the sixth consecutive year, as it looks to raise the profile of the facilities management profession on a global scale.

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Initiated in 2008, by Global FM, the event has succeeded in assembling hundreds of individuals, companies, associations and partners to celebrate their successes and show the world the vital contributions facilities management brings to the built environment.

The principal message of 2013′s World FM Day is ‘creating, sharing, and learning’, and Global FM Leadership has called for everyone to share their latest achievements and successes as an FM professional, as a team, company, or country.

To celebrate World FM Day this year, Workplace Law is hosting a drinks reception at our London office in Clerkenwell, where key personnel from the FM industry will attend to witness the unveiling of the results of our extensive FM research initiative, which Workplace Law has been conducting for the past few months.

Over globally-themed drinks and canapés, we’ll provide a snapshot of our latest research into the industry, and fire up some debate as to how FM can take the seat it so rightfully deserves in business on a global scale.

However, we’re not the only organisation that has exciting plans. The BIFM’s Rising FMs, WiFM and London Region SIGs are putting on a networking event for their members to socialise and share knowledge with fellow members and special interest groups all in one place.

Taking place at Cushman and Wakefield, Portman Square, BIFM will also be raising money for Schools Around The World Charity.

Furthermore, the BIFM is hosting its North Region Summer Ball at Hilton Hotel, Manchester, and tickets are still available. The 5* evening includes a three course meal and live music to celebrate World FM day and provides attendees with the opportunity to network with over 200 FM professionals based in the North of England.

Commenting on World FM Day, and explaining the importance of promoting the industry, Workplace Law Managing Director, David Sharp, said:

“This is a great event that is growing with each year and I am delighted that Workplace Law is getting so involved with the spirit of the day and hosting our own event to celebrate the day, and of course celebrate the successes that have been achieved by the facilities management sector in the past 12 months.

“However, we cannot rest on our laurels and must use occasions such as this to propel the FM sector even further. We have made great strides recently and events such as ThinkFM show how far we have come, but we can still do more, and I am looking forward to being part of World FM Day and proud that Workplace Law will be doing its bit to help raise the profile of the facilities management profession on a global scale.”
