June 25, 2013 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, Fla. (June 25, 2013) — For the second consecutive year, Harry Ellis III, Vice President and CIO at Next Horizon Networking & Technology  has been named “CIO of the Year” at the Orlando Business Journal C-Level Awards.  The 33-year-old Ellis was honored at the annual awards ceremony held last week at Hilton Double Tree Sea World.
Harry oversees all IT-related consulting for Next Horizon, one of Orlando’s leading computer, web design & technology services companies. Next Horizon represents such notable companies as Fence Outlet, RL Haines and .Decimal, providing IT services including web design & hosting, Internet marketing and cloud computing.
OBJ’s C-Level Awards is an annual competition that recognizes the top CFOs, CIOs and COOs in Central Florida.  Judges take into consideration a combination of professional achievements and personal accomplishments, and while many are nominated, only 27 individuals were recognized as honorees in 2013.
“It was quite an honor to be recognized by OBJ again this year,” said Harry.  “When you work in technology, a lot of what you do is behind the scenes.  While I am pleased that I won again, it is even more satisfying to get recognized by my clients and colleagues for the quality work we provide at Next Horizon.”
Despite the recent economic challenges, Next Horizon has continued to enjoy robust annual growth. In fact, 2012 was a banner year as clients tapped Next Horizon for cloud computing and managed IT Services, as well as turned to them for mobile and Internet marketing solutions.  Harry also strongly believes in giving back to the community; as an Eagle Scout, Harry not only remains active in scouts, he is chief information officer at the non-profit Making the Difference Outreach (MTDO).  Harry also takes the time to volunteer for UCP of Central Florida, a non-profit that supports children with special needs providing important resources including education, therapy and advocacy.
“Since the time he joined Next Horizon, Harry has always strived to strike a balance between work, family and giving back to the community,” said his father Harry Ellis, Jr.   “As a business and a family, we take great pride in where Harry has taken Next Horizon and we are pleased that he is again being recognized as one of Orlando’s top Chief Information Officers.”
