Military Families To Receive Help This Christmas Thanks To Spirit of Sharing and Sociercise

SAUTEE, Ga. - June 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Six months from now children across the country will be opening presents and having meals with family.  Unfortunately, many children and families of our military men and women serving overseas will find it difficult or impossible to have a traditional Christmas holiday with a loved one in harm's way.  Spirit of Sharing is an award winning organization that aims to help these families with Christmas gifts and groceries during their loved ones' tour of duty.

In an effort to get a jump on Christmas shopping for these amazing families Spirit of Sharing is partnering with Sociercise, LLC to host a virtual charity race.   This unique fundraising opportunity allows people to run in a virtual race to raise money for Spirit of Sharing.  Runners with iPhones are able to collect pledges for each mile that they complete during the racing period July 10th through July 14th.  Race participants can run anytime and anywhere as often as they like to support these military families.  Anyone that has an iPhone can run or walk in this event and collect pledges.

There are two ways that people can be involved in this great cause.  Individuals interested in participating in this unique event as a race participant can visit the racing dashboard for Spirit of Sharing on the Sociercise website to register (http://www.sociercise.com/charity-racing-dashboard/?race_id=11296).  People that wish to donate to these families can choose a runner from that same page to support or send donations directly to Spirit of Sharing.
