Sylver Consulting’s Adriano Braun Galvao to Teach Design Thinking at CEDIM in Mexico

CHICAGO - June 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Sylver’s founder and president, Brianna Sylver, announced today that the company’s vice president, Adriano Braun Galvao will be joining the organization’s expert leaders in teaching the Innovation and Implementation module as part of their Certificate in Innovation and Design Thinking (CID) program.

The CID is a “five-month program focused on the design implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions that meet concrete needs of real world users.” In this program, “international experts mentor students as they learn about design thinking and the three pillars of innovation: viability, feasibility, and desirability.”  Students of the program include members of a variety of fields and several levels of executive leadership. The program meets once a month from Friday to Sunday to accommodate the time restrictions faced by many busy professionals.

Mr. Galvao will travel to CEDIM’s main campus in Monterrey, Mexico to deliver the fifth and final module of the current class. His module will be delivered in an information-rich and hands on manner, covering concepts of idea selection, value proposition development, business model generation, concept refinement and the development of an innovation implementation plan. Mr. Galvao is ideally suited because not only has he helped shape implementation strategies for Sylver Consulting, but he has also led several innovation research projects at Sylver and a number of strategic, future thinking efforts for the Brazilian government.  In collaboration with the Center of Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE), industrial associations and multinational organizations, Mr. Galvao has articulated how industry must evolve to remain competitive. Mr. Galvao has spoken twice at the World Future Society conference about his work and at a number of other industry events about foresight, innovation, strategy and how to incorporate the outcomes of consumer research into product design.  

Galvao holds a BA in design and mechanical engineering from the University of Brasilia as well as a master’s of human-centered design and a Ph.D. in design methods from the Institute of Design at IIT.  He has also published an engineering-centric book titled Design Relationships: Linking Technical Features to Users’ Tasks.
