Redheads UNITE at The Printworks for the first ever Redhead Day UK

MANCHESTER, U.K. - June 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Redhead Day UK aims to give a sense of community to Redheads all over the world. Especially to help make young children feel good about having red hair as many reports show that children and teenagers are bullied for the dreaded ‘G’ word ‘ginger’. There is a certain stigma attached to it and the event is attempting to address this to help improve youngsters self esteem, by celebrating all things ginger.

At the event there will be many activities such as fashion workshops, colour and image consultant, magicians, motivational speakers, comedians, filmmakers and the Ginger singer songwriter Caroline England.

Also making an appearance is celebrity ambassador for the event stunning teen red head Lucy Dixon who plays Tilly Evans in Hollyoaks but is also known from the show Doctors. Lucy is very passionate and proud about a being a redhead and her advice to fellow gingers is;

“Don’t hide away or let anyone tell you it’s bad to be different. Embrace it and love it. Red heads rule!!!”

Fred Booth, Centre Director of The Printworks explains;

“We are very excited to be hosting the first ever Redhead Day UK, it’s important to shine a light on matters like these and to celebrate that everyone is different. We hope that this will be a successful

day with lots of celebrations.”

The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome to come down and participate in the celebration.
