NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, U.K. - June 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Everyone hopes to have that perfect wedding – exactly as they imagined it, and as something that they will cherish for the rest of their life. And the music that will be played on the day is important, since it is ultimately what will set the desired mood and entertain the guests. But it needs to be planned properly.

This is more easily said than done, however. In fact, leading up to the event, many a couple will have heated discussions about the day’s entertainment. So how do you decide on the entertainment, then? Well, start by taking a look at what’s out there. Here are some of your options…

Wedding Entertainment Choices

·      String Quartets: These are quite common. A string quartet consists of two violins, one viola, and a cello, and is great for both the ceremony and the reception. Alternatively, you can opt for a string duo or trio.

·      Harpists: A harp is a great way to add an element of fantasy to your special day. The sound is stunning, and not as overpowering as other instruments, so the guests can still hear each other speak. When selecting a harpist, ensure that he/she can play a mix of both classical and modern tunes.

·      Organists: As can be expected, organ music works great at church and chapel weddings. Just keep in mind that these instruments are not portable, so you would need to ensure that there is already one on-site.

·      Flautists: A complement of flutes is the perfect way to enthral the guests, especially when it’s an intimate setting – the light and airy sound works really well. It’s also a good alternative to traditional church organ music.

·      Steel Bands: Steel bands play on steel drums, and are an excellent way to add some liveliness to your setting. They’re ideal if you want to see hips swaying and heads bopping. These are best for evening receptions.

·      Saxophonists: A good solo sax player can really engage an audience with his seductive tunes and class up your big day. You can also go for a saxophone solo or duo with an accompanying singer, if you prefer.

·      DJs: Discos are a great idea for evening receptions. A DJ can play a variety of different mixes, ranging from dance to pop, and even traditional music with a touch of spice. They are also relatively inexpensive.

·      Live Bands: These are the ultimate in wedding entertainment, and are what you are looking for if cost is not a factor. You have quite a few choices of live bands – pop, rock, jazz, blues, swing, salsa, etc.

Finding Bands for Weddings

Finding the right ensemble can be a tedious and time consuming process, and no doubt you already have a lot to do. But know that there are one-stop companies that can help you to find the best musical accompaniments for your ceremony faster and cheaper than if you were to go it alone.

Many times, they already have a large network of trusted musicians that are used to providing wedding entertainment and know what to expect. They will negotiate the contracts, make sure that everything goes as planned, and supervise the event from start to finish. This will take a load off of your shoulders.

If you are specifically looking for options in North East England, then you have quite a lot to choose from, as well. There are many north east wedding band groups that can cater to a variety of different requests, and some are affordable.

Ultimately, great music on your big day is important, so take the time to consider the all of the options and see what works best. Good luck!
