PRLog - June 20, 2013 - BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- The Professional Performing Arts Academy (PPAA) held their kickoff event on Saturday, June 15 at their newly founded location in Burbank, California. The launch event featured a one day only rehearsal and performance by prospective students who delighted the crowd with their singing and dancing. Shaun Royer, founder of the PPAA, led the youth in the one day workshop, with Alyson Stoner (“Step Up 3D”, “Cheaper by the Dozen”) choreographing a routine for the kids to perform. Royer, known as the “star maker,” has being instrumental in the careers of mega stars such as Hilary Duff, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, the musical group Savvy, and many more.

When asked what it takes to be a star, Royer said “It takes a bit of determination. A great support system and the ability to be ready when your time comes.”
Royer founded the Professional Performing Arts Academy to equip performers to act with confidence and composure; to know the importance of work and education; and to respectively collaborate with their peers. The PPAA provides a full spectrum of classes including acting, singing and dance are focused on grooming children ages 8-20 to be stars taught by a faculty of experienced and revered professionals, which includes; Douglas James who along with his business partner have produced/written songs that have sold over a million albums worldwide with artists like Akon, Kanye West, Cee Lo Green and many more, Matt Marr who is a featured dancer on “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Glee”, Pamela Shae who is the former Executive in Charge of Talent and Casting for Spelling Television Inc. overseeing over 50 productions including; “Charmed”, “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Seventh Heaven”, and Alyson Stoner most famous for her roles in “Step Up” and “Cheaper By The Dozen”.
The Academy’s mission is to produce entertainment professionals that will define the industry in the coming decade: professionals that will challenge what is possible when it comes to technical skill as much as the influence that their talent can have on shaping society.
To celebrate the launch of the PPAA, Royer hosted a red carpet talent showcase attended by Drake Bell (Drake & Josh), Alyson Stoner (Step Up 3D), Gary Goldstein (Producer, Pretty Woman), Anton Kasabov (Tekken), Taylor Hay (Teens Wanna Know), Jaida Benjamin (The Onion News Network), and Elias Washington (Hope For Love).
