CHEYENNE, Wyo. - June 21, 2013 - PRLog -- OutdoorGearLab.com released the results today of the 2013 Editor's Choice awards for the best travel duffle bags. Nine top of the line contenders were compared in exhaustive side-by-side review testing. They were compared in the following categories; ease of transport, ease of packing, durability, weight and weather resistance.

Testing involved hauling gear on grand adventures in Central British Columbia, while strapped on sleds across the Alaskan Range, while balanced atop mules in the rain for weeks on end in Patagonia and also occasionally while running through airports. The winners:
The North Face Base Camp http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Duffel-Bag-Reviews/The-North-Face-Base-Camp-Duffel winner of the 2013 Editor's Choice award. According to Gear Editor Ian Nicholson, "The Base Camp gets top choice in nearly every category tested. It's easy to pack and looks great. The weight is average compared to the rest, but it's the lightest of the D-shaped opening on top category. The extra features were nice and it's convent that it comes in such a great range of sizes. The Base Camp is designed for expeditions and has everything you need while also being very durable, highly water resistant and easy to carry."

Patagonia Black Hole http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Duffel-Bag-Reviews/Patagoni... winner of the Top Pick award for 3013. This award goes to the product that is the best at a specific application. Gear Editor Nicholson reports that, "The Black Hole was the lightest product tested that featured shoulder straps and the only one less than three pounds to feature so many pockets. It was a favorite in the easy to transport and carry categories."

Helly Hansen http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Duffel-Bag-Reviews/Helly-Ha... winner of the Best Buy award for 2013. This award goes to a product that receives a high score on our tests balance with a reasonable price. From Nicholson, "The Hensen's main advantages are the inside pockets, straps that are comfortable and it's large D-shaped opening on top. It's little features were helpful and it's great for those looking for something that is not enormous."
