The Village In Gainesville Wins National Awards For Health Services

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - June 19, 2013 - PRLog -- The Village, a senior living community in Gainesville, received national recognition and excellence awards for its employment culture and health care services. The honors are from Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a nationally recognized leader in health care research and assessment.
   The 2013 PRC National Excellence in Healthcare Awards, given out this month at its annual conference in Orlando, recognized The Village for the quality of its staff, leadership, resident care and health services. The awards were given to health care providers in categories ranging from emergency room services to long-term care. Excellence awards recognize only the top 10 percent in each category.
   “Our staff is phenomenal, and they’re always looking for ways to better themselves and the lives of the older adults they serve,” says Jim Antonucci, executive director at The Village. “We offer exceptional lifestyle options and health services, and these awards reflect that. It’s an honor to be recognized among the elite health care service providers in the country.”
   The Village received awards for excellence in categories including: As a Place to Work, Senior Leadership, Overall Empowerment, Communication, and Training and Professional Development.
   The awards for excellence are based on employee, customer and patient reviews, and on new initiatives implemented during the previous calendar year. Awards were also judged on innovation, originality of programs and services, and impact on patients.
   The Village is seeing significant success with new and innovative health care services for residents, including its Vitality Program launched last year. The program simplifies health care for older adults by providing proactive, multi-dimensional health services all in one place. Through a clinic at The Village, residents receive primary care, personal recommendations from medical experts, access to a range of services for healthier lifestyles and on-site management. The Vitality Program is available to all residents in independent living, assisted living and memory support.
   “It’s wonderful to hear staff, residents and people in our community say we’re doing a great job,” Antonucci says. “But it’s really special when we get that independent, third-party validation for our performance and the goals we’re achieving.”
