First Pioneer Insurance Agency Supports North Carolina Fire Departments, First Annual Photo Contest

ABERDEEN, N.C. - June 18, 2013 - PRLog -- First Pioneer Insurance Agency is inviting Fire Departments in Moore and surrounding counties to participate in their first annual North Carolina Fire Department Photo Contest to raise money for local fire departments and increase fire safety awareness in the community.

Each year during Fire Safety Week in October, First Pioneer Insurance Agency teams up with the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina to promote Operation EDITH in area schools and day care centers.  The goal of Operation EDITH, whose letters stand for Exit Drill In The Home, is to educate parents that practicing a home exit drill and having a working smoke detector can save lives.

This year First Pioneer Insurance Agency is taking their fire safety campaign a step further by hosting the first annual photo contest for local fire departments.  The agency will donate a total of $1,500 to the winning departments to use for equipment, training, and other areas where they have a need.  First Pioneer Insurance Agency believes that fire education, prevention, and safety are extremely important and they invite the community to get involved by voting for their favorite fire department’s photo.

Here is how it works: A photo from each participating fire department will be posted in an album on the First Pioneer Insurance Agency Facebook page.  Friends in the community are encouraged to “like” their favorite fire department photo.  The top two fire departments with the most “likes” will win.  First Pioneer Insurance Agency will donate $1,000 for 1st Place and $500 for 2nd Place to the fire departments who collect the most “likes” on their photo.

If you are interested in participating, First Pioneer Insurance Agency will begin accepting photo submissions on June 19, 2013.  Photos can be uploaded directly to the agency’s Facebook Fire Department Contest Page and will be approved for voting within one business day.  Photos may also be submitted by email to: michellev@pioneerinsurance.com.  The contest will run from June 19 until August 19, 2013 at 10:00am.
