Local Business to Exhibit at National Fancy Food Show in NYC

Bacci Chocolate Design, owners of The Chocolate Truffle of Reading, will exhibit at the National Fancy Food Show in New York City, June 30 to July 2, it was announced today.

The manufacturer, headquartered in Swampscott, Mass., will showcase three new additions to their CB Stuffer line of gourmet chocolate products: the Bacon Peanut Butter Cup, the 70-percent cocoa, all-natural Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, and the Dark Chocolate Truffle Peanut Butter Cup.

The CB Stuffer line also includes gourmet Chocolate Bars in flavors such as Cinnamon Chili, Chipotle, Bacon Barbeque, Hazelnut, Cranberry Orange, and Blueberry; Chocolate Pizzas, and Pizza Slices with m&m’s & Pretzels, and Cookies ‘n Cream, and Peanut Butter Cups filled with Marshmallow, Caramel and Jelly. CB Stuffer items are available at a wide range of specialty retailers including Stonewall Kitchen, TJX, The Paper Store, Henri Bendel of New York City, and The Chocolate Truffle of Reading.

The Fancy Food Show of the Specialty Food Association, formerly known as the National Association of Specialty Foods, is celebrating its 59th year, and is the largest marketplace devoted to specialty foods and beverages in North America. This year’s show will be held June 30 through July 2 at the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center in New York City. The organization estimates 2,400 exhibitors of specialty products including chocolate and confections, cheeses, coffee, and snacks from 80 countries and regions will be on site.

Bacci Chocolate Design will be exhibiting for the fourth year.

“This is the Mecca of food shows and we are very excited about going back this year,” said Erin Calvo-Bacci, owner of Bacci Chocolate Design and The Chocolate Truffle. “We are a small manufacturer, but we stand with internationally-recognized names. It is a tremendous opportunity for exposure, and is where the major buyers for companies such as William Sonoma, Henry Bendel and TJX look for new products. In the past, we have caught the attention of Rachael Ray, Oprah Winfrey, and Good Housekeeping magazine.”

Calvo-Bacci is member of the Retail Association of Massachusetts, and serves on its Legislative Committee. Locally, she sits on the Buy Local task force of the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce. Currently serving her second year as a Town Meeting member in Reading, she was a member of the Historical Demo Delay Bylaw Working Group, which crafted a local bylaw that passed last year.

She is also president of ECBstrategies, providing small business consulting services.
