MILWAUKEE - June 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Little Bahalia Publishing, LLC is proud to announce the release of the animated app A Shiver of Sharks, written by Julie Hedlund and illustrated by Pamela Baron.

A Shiver of Sharks is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed "animal groups" app, A Troop is a Group of Monkeys (2013). Produced by Little Bahalia Publishing, a transmedia book and app company based in Milwaukee, the app once again features original music by singer/songwriter Tim McCanna. A Shiver of Sharks is designed to delight and educate kids 3-8 and entertain all ages.

A battery of barracudas, a herd of seahorses, and a flamboyance of flamingoes join shivery sharks on an undersea adventure in this musical, interactive tour of creatures living in or near the ocean. Little fingers will enjoy making crabs scuttle or jellyfish change colors. They will also hear whale calls and the ambient sounds of the ocean with each spread.

Like previous Little Bahalia titles, this is a storybook app that pushes the boundaries of technology to bring as much interactivity as possible to help reinforce a child’s learning of the key concepts, and be as entertained and engaged as possible. All of the animals are animated, making Pamela Baron’s beautiful watercolor paintings come to life in hi-res, undulating undersea detail.

About the publisher: Little Bahalia publishes children’s literary fiction and nonfiction in a variety of media formats, with a focus on iPad apps. Williams said, “I believe tablet computers open up wonderful possibilities for experiencing stories. Our goal is to bring stories to life using animation and sound in exciting new ways. Our intent at Little Bahalia is to keep pushing the boundaries of storytelling as new technologies emerge and to offer exciting new opportunities for authors and artists”.

New apps coming from Little Bahalia Publishing include Teeny Tiny Trucks, written by Tim McCanna and illustrated by Keith Frawley, and The Box, written and illustrated by Joshua Zelasko.
