OXFORD, U.K. - June 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Africa is favourably positioned to become the fastest growing region in the world and becoming an increasingly attractive hub for foreign investors in light of various economic, political and social reforms that are sweeping throughout the continent, resulting in a much improved business environment conducive for foreign direct investment.

The economic outlook for Africa remains favourable despite headwinds from the global economy. Growth has remained relatively broad, with oil production, mining, agriculture, services and domestic demand as the main drivers, mitigating the adverse effects from global turbulences. But growth has remained subdued in several countries due to poor export performances and, political and social tensions. On average, and excluding the distortions by volatile gross domestic product (GDP) developments in Libya, Africa’s economic growth was 4.2% in 2012 and is projected to accelerate to 4.5% in 2013 and further to 5.2% in 2014. This forecast assumes a gradual improvement of global economic conditions [Africa Economic Outlook, 2013].

Boosting Africa economic growth entails providing support  to improve the business environment and access to market opportunities; promoting effective trade relations; developing strong financial institutions; providing financing, business assistance and advisory services to both organisations and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, strengthening institutional frameworks; promoting commerce and the integration of regional markets; and fostering intrapreneurship and innovation within organisations.

The 2nd Africa Economic Development Conference, which will take place on the 24 – 25 October, LONDON, will include panel debates, presentations, interviews and workshops will revolve around the following key themes:
