The Gibson ES-339 Studio - light on weight but heavy on tone

A semi-hollow guitar with compact dimensions and a killer set of specifications make the Gibson ES-339 Studio a pleasure to play.

LEICESTSHIRE, U.K. - June 17, 2013 - PRLog -- With its great tone and unique styling, the Gibson ES-339 is an incredibly popular guitar. Now, Gibson have launched the ES-339 Studio, a stripped back semi-hollow version that’s sure to be just as sought after as its predecessor.

Smaller and more comfortable for the user, the ES-339 Studio is double cut and retains the curves that are synonymous with Gibson’s ES Series.  The reduced proportions make the guitar more manageable and the F-Holes have been elimited to create a sleek-looking top that’s resistant to feedback. The electronics inside the guitar have also been simplified and feature just a single Dirty Fingers Plus Humbucking pickup in the bridge position, along with a lone volume and tone pot.

With a backed maple fingerboard on top of a solid maple neck, the design of the ES-339 Studio has a brighter tone than the mahogany and rosewood combination of the majority of Gibson guitars. Not only does this work to balance the low-end that results from the semi-hollow body, giving a cleanly rounded tone with plenty of clarity but it also makes bending smooth. The single volume and tone controls are perfectly placed for easy access without being in the way.

When it comes to the Gibson ES-339 Studio, seeing (and playing) is believing. To find out more or to have a play, visit Music Junkie’s flagship store or http://www.musicjunkie.co.uk. The team at the specialist guitar and music technology store will be happy to help!
