“Don’t dismiss Dementia!”- urges Preston Home Care Provider

PRESTON, U.K. - June 17, 2013 - PRLog -- There are 800,000 adults – some aged as young as 40 – living with dementia, but fewer than half of those have been diagnosed. Figures provided by The Alzheimer's Society, also claim over 80 per cent of people in care homes have dementia. For many of us dementia is an unspoken disease, too daunting to confront or too easy to dismiss yet it has been identified as one of the main causes of disability in later life ahead of cancer, cardiovascular disease and strokes.

This year Dementia Awareness Week 2013 is all about conversation and getting everyone to speak out about Dementia with the focus on talking to one another. Launched by Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones actors, celebrities and MPs alike are speaking out about dementia, and urging people across the UK to do the same
