New Black Hair Magazine Taking The Hair & Beauty Industy By Storm

June 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Kansas City, MO – June 14, 2013 – Midwest Black Hair Magazine, is a fairly new black hair magazine on the block, coming straight out of the Midwest. Started by Malisse Lockhart-Ford in November 2011, the magazine is devoted to showcasing African American hair styles, promoting local hair and beauty stylist, supporting local small businesses, putting a spotlight on hair & beauty events, and providing hair, beauty, and health information specifically to people of color through monthly articles.

Ford has been quoted as saying, “Hair is not merely just hair, but an accessory to our style”, and that is the motto that she bases the monthly publication on. Viewing black hair from different viewpoints of healthy hair as well as the artistic side, her vision for the magazine is evolving with each issue.

The readership of Midwest Black Hair Magazine has spanned widely across the Country, as well as throughout many countries around the world.  Black hair magazines are not only about the east and west coast’s anymore, but the Midwest now has a voice, and its through Midwest Black Hair Magazine.
