GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - June 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Homeowners in Grand Rapids area who were forced to put off selling their homes because of the downturn in the housing market are now discovering that their homes are worth more than they thought, and there are a large number of buyers looking to purchase those homes.

“We have gotten so used to the downward trends from the past few years that most people don’t know that prices are increasing rapidly,” said Donna Tashjian, CDPE with Keller Williams Realty Grand Rapids East. “The impact of these price increases means that people who held off selling their homes may want to think about selling again.”

Homeowners who had not paid attention to the rapidly shifting market were surprised to learn how dramatically things have changed. “The increase in home prices occurred so quickly that it caught many experts by surprise,” Tashjian said. “A lot of homeowners, who may not have been paying as close attention, are pleasantly surprised when they find out what their home is worth today.”
