2013 We Promise Foundation Grant to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. - June 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Chartway Federal Credit Union’s charitable arm, the We Promise Foundation, presented Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia with a grant for $125,000.

         The 2013 We Promise Foundation funding will help Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The We Promise Foundation is dedicated to making dreams come true for children with degenerative, life-threatening, debilitating or chronic illness, or those facing tremendous hardships. We Promise Foundation’s strong community outreach program continues to accomplish the Foundation’s single goal of putting smiles on the faces of children by making their dreams come true. To conserve its purpose, the We Promise Foundation hosts various annual events such as Free Groceries for a Year Raffle, Diamonds in the Sky Gala, and Red Carpet Celebrity Handbag Auction.

         Make-A-Wish  grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Founded in 1980 when a group of caring volunteers helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, Make-A-Wishis one of the world’s leading children’s charities, with 62 chapters (http://wish.org/chapterlocate) in the United States and its territories.
