Celebrity Mario Winans Faces Alleged Child Support Neglect Reports readyBUZZ

MENLO PARK, Calif. - June 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Mario Winans an R&B singer, songwriter and music producer that has a successful music career spanning over a decade faces legal trouble over alleged child support neglect. The Grammy nominated musician is alleged to owe over $15,950 in child support to Janel Bennett, the mother of their son Jordan.

“He is a very successful entertainer and recording artist; I do wish him and his family well but, there is no excuse to let 5 months go by and not even send $20.00." Bennett says.The child support battle has been raging since 2005 when a paternity test revealed that Winans is the biological father of Jordan.

Bennett was initially given $4,500 a month but lowered it to $2,500 when she thought Winans, who has other children, was having financial problems. “We found out the truth and heard he was living very well,” truth was he was having another baby so this was why he was saying he couldn't afford the child support" Bennett says. “So we had mediation and agreed to lower it to only $3,500.”

The laws governing child support vary state-by-state but generally include: payments for reasonable health care costs not covered by health insurance, payments for child care, health insurance or medical support and monthly payments based on a statutory formula. “I just want justice for my son, I want this resolved once and for all” states Bennett.
