LONDON - June 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Broadgate Mainland was one of 25 companies recognised in the small company category, for businesses with between 20 and 49 members of staff. The UK Best Workplaces Survey takes place annually and the 2013 rankings were announced last night at The Tower of London.

The awards recognise Broadgate Mainland’s commitment to creating a workplace which combines a focus on delivering excellent client service with motivating employees to achieve their personal goals and work together as a team, in an environment of trust. Broadgate Mainland was able to demonstrate that employees trust the management team, take pride in what they do and enjoy working with their colleagues.

The Great Place to Work® scheme uses two metrics in order to determine the rankings; the first is an anonymous survey of all staff that evaluates the perception of employees about management, their colleagues and their job. The second is a ‘Culture Audit’ questionnaire completed by management, examining how management creates trust through policies, practices and initiatives. The scores from both these evaluations determine whether a company makes the Great Place to Work® rankings.

Roland Cross, Director, says: “Broadgate Mainland has always sought to promote an environment of trust and respect, and to be a fun, friendly and supportive place to work.  We believe that the essential measure of a good place to work is whether its employees say it is. Many accolades do not take this into consideration, but the fact that two-thirds of the score in this survey is based on employee feedback makes it all the more meaningful and a valuable assessment tool.

“We want all of our staff to be actively involved in making our company a success and to enjoy working here. We recognise the importance of challenging and inspiring our employees to develop their skills, balanced with a rewarding environment where staff are encouraged to take responsibility.”

The Great Place to Work® Institute UK is part of the world's largest consultancy specialising in workplace assessment and enhancement. Every year it surveys some 6,000 organisations around the world representing around 10 million employees.

Broadgate Mainland’s ranking adds to its success in 2012 when it was awarded Investors in People (IIP) Bronze status and was also highly commended in the PR Week Best Places to Work Awards.
