SAINT PAUL, Minn. - June 12, 2013 - PRLog -- On Saturday June 29th at 7pm, Enlightened Piano Radio will bring it's nationally recognized concert to St. Paul MN!  What's more, the performance will be held at one of the cities most prestigious historical landmarks, The James J. Hill House.   This is a first for the online radio station, which has been seeing a rapid increase in listeners and publicity.

"It's extremely exciting" states Donovan Johnson, the radio station's founder.  "We've had Enlightened Piano concerts all over the US, but they're usually house concerts, church concerts or piano store functions.  To perform with two other pianists at a historical landmark is a huge step forward, and all three of us are thrilled to have this great opportunity!"

What is Enlightened Piano Radio, you might ask?  "Enlightened Piano Radio" is an online radio station that features fresh, original piano music written by today's composers.  The roster for the radio station includes pianists from around the globe, and "Enlightened Piano" concerts have been sprouting up everywhere from Boston to Portland, as well as much of the Midwest and the South.  The concerts usually include three pianists, although they've been performed with two.  The setting is relaxed, casual, fun and interactive.  Each composer tells a story about their song before performing it, then passes the torch to the next performer until the three have completed a "round."  Johnson explains that this format is "an extremely effective way of maintaining a fresh and vibrant energy throughout the concert." "It gives the listener a chance to hear something different with each performance.  When you have three pianists on the stage, you have such diversity in style-even if they're all in the same genre of music.  It's captivating."

The concert will include a light reception at intermission, and will be held in the art gallery of the James J. Hill House, performed on a Steinway baby grand piano.  There will be short guided tours of the grounds following the concert, and merchandise will be available for sale.  "There's something here for everyone to enjoy" exclaims Johnson.  "It's more than just a "piano concert."  This is a made from scratch, high quality, inexpensive event to attend with your friends and family.  Something to make an evening of."

All three pianists have toured nationally, and can be found online through such websites as Amazon, Pandora, and ITunes.  Award winning pianist Matthew Mayer has performed on, and worked with the national television series "Access Hollywood."  Amy Skjei has been the recipient of numerous MMTA awards, is a featured artist on EScapes cable television, and was also featured on WCCO TV's "Live To The Max."  Donovan Johnson has performed on NBC television and travelled as far as London England to showcase his work.  Together, the three are a breathtaking combination.  Johnson concludes by stating that the event is "going to be a memorable experience for everyone involved.  Attendees and performers alike."

The James J. Hill House is located at 240 Summit Avenue in St. Paul MN.  Reservations are being taken through the James J. Hill House, at 651-297-2555.
