Medical Staffing Network and B95.5 Announce Latest “Nurse of the Month” Winner

ALBANY, N.Y. - June 12, 2013 - PRLog -- ALBANY, NY, Medical Staffing Network Healthcare, LLC (http://www.msnhealth.com/) (MSN) is pleased to announce the Nurse of the Month contest winner for this month. The contest, which the Company co-sponsors with local radio station B95.5, honors exceptional local nurses. This month’s Nurse of the Month winner is Karri Durr Roach, RN, from Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. The person who nominated Karri said, “A few years ago Karrie came into my life at one of the worst times. She was my nurse but also my friend. She never gave up on me at the most difficult time of my life. And if it wasn’t for Karri I would not be where I am now. Not just anyone can do this job. I put her, along with the other staff, through hell and back while I was there. But she NEVER gave up on me and NEVER let me give up on myself. I am now working a full-time job as a CNA, I have my driver’s license and a car, and I also work part time at a second nursing home as a CNA. And I owe most of this to the one special nurse that never gave up on me and I still keep in touch with her to this day.”

Nurse of the Month Contest prizes presented to Karri included dinner at Athos Restaurant, movie tickets to Regal Cinemas, and a $100 gift card to a local scrubs store. Said Branch Manager Anita Vitallo, “I found this story so inspiring. This is what nursing is all about. Kari turned this patient’s life around. Psychiatric nursing is so challenging and healing usually takes a very long time. Kari never gave up and that’s why we choose her as nurse of the month.”
