Pride of Britain Hotels welcomes two new members: Lucknam Park and Seaham Hall

June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Pride of Britain Hotels, the consortium of 46 privately-owned independent British hotels and spas, is delighted to announce two new members: Lucknam Park near Bath, one of Britain’s finest five-star country house hotels, and the recently-refurbished Seaham Hall, a stylish and contemporary coastal retreat near Durham.  Both were voted in as members of the exclusive consortium and provide the exceptional hospitality and high standards that Pride of Britain Hotels are known for.

Brief details, with lead-in prices, are as follows:

Lucknam Park – one night from £345 per room
Set in 500 acres of listed parkland and vibrant gardens, yet just six miles from Bath, Lucknam Park is a beautiful Palladian mansion that dates back to 1720.  The hotel has 42 individually-designed bedrooms, including 13 suites, and an extensive range of leisure facilities available for adults and children alike.  The Park Restaurant is an exquisite Michelin-starred restaurant headed up by Executive Chef Hywel Jones and the less formal Brasserie with its wood-fired oven adjoins the wonderful spa. The range of leisure facilities is superb: the state-of-the-art spa is cocooned within a picturesque walled garden and features an indoor/outdoor hydrotherapy pool, 20-metre swimming pool, nine treatment rooms, several thermal cabins (including one with Japanese Salt and another Roman-inspired tepidarium sauna).  There is also an Equestrian Centre with 35 horses and ponies, two tennis courts, croquet, walking trails and bicycle hire plus a superb cookery school with a huge choice of courses.

This is the first hotel ever to be both a member of Pride of Britain and of Relais & Châteaux at the same time, following the French-based consortium’s decision to allow dual membership within the UK.

A one-night stay costs from £345 per room on a room-only basis.

Seaham Hall, near Durham – three nights for the price of two from £590 per suite/£295 pp
Located on the North-East heritage coast and close to several ancient castles and beautiful beaches, Seaham Hall was built in 1791 and is just 30 minutes from Durham.  With a new management team in place and a £1.5 million refurbishment complete, the sleek interior includes 20 individually-designed bedroom suites and Byron’s Bar, named after the celebrated British poet whose wedding took place at the hotel in 1815.  Former two Michelin-starred chef Martin Blunos will be launching Blunos’ Sea Grill later this month (Wednesday 26th June) with an emphasis on fresh, locally-caught sustainable seafood.  The hotel’s Serenity Spa houses a 20-metre pool, hammam with walk-in snail showers, outdoor hot tubs and roof garden along with an extensive range of tempting treatments.  Until 31 August 2013, a special re-launch offer is available with three nights for the price of two.  A three-night stay costs from £590 per suite/£295 pp (two sharing) with a full English breakfast (saving £295 per suite).

The addition of Lucknam Park and Seaham Hall takes the Pride of Britain collection to 46 member properties, close to the maximum of 50 allowed in its rules. All applications for membership are followed by an overnight inspection carried out by a current member hotelier, before being presented to all members in a ballot.
