Key Industry Leaders to Gather at the Region’s Largest Downstream Refining Event

MARINA BAY, Singapore - June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- While oil refineries in Europe and developed nations in the west are seeing feeble growth, Asia is witnessing immense development, with 24 new refineries expected to come online by 2017. With Asia expecting to account for 40% of the global refining capacity in the near future, Asia’s key players in downstream refining will convene at Downstream Asia and Petrochemical Asia from the 30-31 October to discuss key challenges, developments and opportunities in the industry.

The event features a case-study led conference as well as will encompass the region’s largest downstream refining exhibition with local and international exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services for the industry. The exhibition will be open to all trade visitors who pre-register online.

The conference this year will focus on enhancing refineries and petrochemical firms’ competitiveness through energy efficiency, reliability & cost control. Sally Tan, project director of Downstream Asia and Petrochemical Asia, elaborates that “field experts presenting on topics from global refining and petrochemical trends to refinery-petrochemical integration have been selected and will make up a tailor-made programme to best suit the needs of the industry.”

For the second year running, the exhibition will be supported by the Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMF), allowing Singapore registered companies to participate at heavily subsidised rates under an initiative that is aimed at supporting local businesses in their participation of trade association and chamber led activities.
