Basketball & Swim Camp at Simi YMCA: August 5 - 9

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - June 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Simi Valley, Calif.--Campers will be able to enjoy a week of basketball and swim time during the Simi Valley Family YMCA's sports and swim camp, August 5 through August 9, at the Simi Y facilities (3200 Cochran St., Simi Valley).

         Children will learn basic basketball fundamentals and skills in a fun, supportive environment. They will also take part in daily recreational swim time in the Y's indoor aquatics center. Campers will travel to local sporting areas for practices, with the week culminating on Friday when participants play a tournament against their peers. "Players will use the skills they have learned throughout the week for this final event," says Mitch McManus, the Simi Y's healthy living and sports director. "All skill levels are welcomed including beginners."  

         Campers will be grouped by age (6 to 8, 9 to 11 and 12 to 14). Camp is held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. The fee is $185 per camper. Extended care is included and is available from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
