ACTE announce a U.K distribution agreement with Global Navigation Systems (GNS)

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - June 10, 2013 - PRLog -- GNS are a specialist in the design and manufacture of tiny receiver modules for operation on GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo satellite navigation systems. They are available as standalone 16 pin single chip receivers, modules with integrated antenna or as combination modules which combine satellite navigation with Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy or FM enabled Traffic Message Channel (TMC) capability.

GNS receivers are based upon MediaTek Global Navigation Satellite Solutions (GNSS) single chip solutions providing ultra high tracking / navigation of up to -165dBm. 99 acquisition and 33 tracking channels are available for navigation fixes which allows for GPS and GLONASS combined navigation solutions being available in addition to a standalone GNSS navigation fix. Impressive current consumption and low power modes are available such as 1PPS tracking at just 15mA at 3.3V. For instances where time to first fix (TTFF) is critical, GNS offer a 7 or 14 day Assisted GPS (AGPS) web service, downloadable via GPRS, LAN or WLAN.

With a UART interface and in a castellated edges SMD package, GNS receivers operate via industry standard NMEA or binary protocols and allow integration for many navigation and timing applications – the latter with a 1 second output accurate to 10nS. For data logging applications, receivers have on-chip memory allowing for up to 32 hours navigation data to be stored. Products are CE, FCC and RoHS compliant.

Founded in 1998, GNS, based near Aachen, Germany were initially an innovator, developer and manufacturer of hard and software Traffic Message Channel (TMC) information solutions. Under on-going developments, combined and standalone TMC and GNSS solutions were introduced which today feature in hundreds of designs in various satellite tracking and TMC applications globally.
