The Veggiecation Program and select Whole Foods Market locations in New Jersey are getting kids cooking! Together with a Veggiecation instructor, kids will help prepare a Cannellini Beanie Dip and Tex-Mex Tomato Salad. As practiced in participating classrooms throughout the country, kids will be invited to learn basic nutrition facts while they prepare Veggiecation’ An evidenced-based nutrition education program developed for classrooms and at home, Veggiecation Program’s success with kids lies in the engaging activities that empower children with their food choices while demonstrating that eating vegetables is fun and delicious. Veggiecation Program and Whole Foods Market kids cooking classes are free and open to the public. Preregistration for cooking classes at select Whole Foods Markets is required as seating is limited. The Circus is Coming to Bergen County YJCC The circus is coming to town! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls: Step right up! The Kelly Miller Circus rolls into town on Sunday, June 23, 2013 for two shows, 2:00 and 5:00 pm, on the grounds of the Bergen County YJCC, 605 Pascack Road, Township of Washington. This traditional tented circus features elephants, tigers, camels, ponies and a cast of international circus stars including daring aerialists, agile acrobats and cavorting clowns, all under the big top. Owned and produced by John Ringling North II, the Kelly Miller Circus—now celebrating its 75th year—is one of only a few traveling shows still in existence. It is an energetic two-hour spectacle that provides a wealth of family fun. Click here for more information: Summer Soccer Camp in Franklin Lakes The prestigious Elite Training Academy, located in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, will be offering a 2013 Summer Soccer Camp for youths, in association with the Franklin Lakes Recreation Department. The soccer camp will be held from July 8-12, 2013 at the Municipal Fields in Franklin Lakes. This summer soccer camp is open to campers ages 3-13 (grouped by age and ability). 2013 camps will feature competitions, detailed camper evaluations and a ratio of 1 trainer to every 10-12 campers. Camp curriculum will include warm up, technical skills work, tactical awareness demonstrations, small and large sided games and more. This summer soccer camp is an outstanding opportunity for youths to learn the game of soccer, improve their soccer skills or prepare for a successful fall soccer season, all while having fun!
