WASHINGTON - June 10, 2013 - PRLog -- District Comedy, the premier comedy booking and production company in the nation’s capital and Hobbes’ House of Soap, an event planning/public relations company announced their first “Comedy for a Cause” fundraiser will support GOProud, one of the nation’s most prominent groups who advocates on behalf of gay conservatives.  This will be held on June 25th at RFD in Chinatown.

“District Comedy has held fundraisers for charity before and it’s truly a win-win-win situation,” said Brad Ryan, co-founder of District Comedy, “We raise money for good causes, highlight local talent -- the DC area has a lot of great comedians, and the audience has a great time. All too often fundraisers offer the same thing each time, some speeches, some dry chicken and that’s it but it doesn’t have to be that way.  We hope to redefine how people view fundraisers and want to make these fun for everyone involved.”

“We are excited to be the inaugural beneficiary of this project,” said Jimmy LaSalvia, Executive Director of GOProud, “This is a fundraiser and we hope to raise some awareness but more than that, this is going to be a fun night.
