Big River Telephone Reached Goal for Blood Drive

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - June 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Big River Telephone would like to thank the American Red Cross team and everyone that came out to participate in Big River’s blood drive.  The drive took place Monday, June 3rd at Big River’s Cape Girardeau office.

The blood drive was open to Big River employees and the public. Big River had a goal set for the amount of units they wanted to collect for the blood drive and that goal was reached.  Enough blood was donated to save the lives of many.  The drive consisted of a few walk-ins that spotted the American Red Cross bus at the Big River office and also some donors that heard the drive advertised on the radio.  All donors that participated were given an American Red Cross T-shirt.  The need for blood right now is very high and Big River is very appreciative of everyone that was able to attend.  The gift of blood is a gift of life.

Michelle Johnson with the American Red Cross spoke with Lauren Dirnberger, the Marketing Associate of Big River Telephone, and said to her “A big huge ‘Thank You’ to you and your company.  Fifty-one lives could be saved from your donations.  We are especially grateful that you help us during the month of June.  We are starting into the season that we struggle to collect enough blood, so your timing is wonderful.  Thank you again for taking on the blood drive and really making a difference to the community!”
