June 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Auroras Ring, a Swedish nonprofit organization dedicated to protect life on earth for the next seven generations, in collaboration with, the Center for Sacred Studies (CSS), dedicated to sustaining indigenous ways of life through cross-cultural spiritual practices, ministry and education is hosting a public gathering of the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers July 11 – 14, 2013 to be held at the Clarion Hotel in Stockholm.

A press conference will be held with the Grandmothers at the Ethnographic Museum in Stockholm Sunday, July 7th at 11:15 am. For press accreditation, please contact:
Annette Ericsdotter Bettaieb, annette@tgim.se +46 70 777 91 00.

The gathering honors the Saami people and all indigenous peoples of the world. Auroras Ring believes that the time has come to listen to the wisdom of the First Nations People in order to shift our behavior in caring for life on Earth.  They aim to create opportunities for exchange between representatives of indigenous and other cultures that will lead to the preservation of indigenous traditions, lands, medicines, language and prayer.

A sacred fire will be burning for the duration and participants are invited to join as each Grandmother offers prayers and rituals from her respective tradition.  Each day will focus on an element and its corresponding theme beginning with air, followed by earth, water and finally fire.  Themes include the human and relations, the human and nature, the human and water, and the human and the cosmos.

Those wishing to attend the gathering are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
In addition to the public gathering there will be an evening of welcome in Katarina Church on July 7 at 18:00 and a Water Ceremony with the Grandmothers and children on July 16 at 10:00. For those interested there is a symposium on Awakening the Dreamer program on July 10. For more information, click here (http://grandmotherscouncil.org/events/events-calendar/13-...).
