Fal Fire Protection Launches New Security Division

After Many years of specialising only in Fire Protection, the company has decided to widen services to offer more to customers

PENRYN, U.K. - June 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Falmouth, Cornwall - After over a quarter of a century of specialising in fire protection, locally-owned Fal Fire Protection have launched a new security division led by security specialist Stefan Woolley. Stefan has worked in the alarms sector for nearly a decade in a number of roles and will build and head up the new team.. New services on offer are expected to include among others, intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, and security lighting

Why Intruder and Why Now? The exiting decision was made in response to repeated requests over the years from existing customers to offer a wider range of services especially intruder alarms. “People are becoming more aware of the possibility of being burgled and although such crimes are not on the increase, people have significantly more technology in their homes which is both expensive and personal, and are now more motivated to protect it better.” Said MD Jan Blackler “The loss of a personal computer or smart phone or TV with all the data that such items typically contain represents a more significant loss than just an old TV easily replaced.” The spectre of arriving home from a holiday away to find the house ransacked is one that most people try not to imagine, but for some, it will be reality. The obvious presence of an intruder alarm significantly reduces the chance of such an outrage. Also, an added bonus is that insurance companies may offer householders substantial discounts on their premiums if the house is protected by an alarm, especially a communicated one. The costs of such installations along with CCTV and security lighting, are now  much more affordable that they previously were, both to businesses and householders amounting to approximately that of a budget pc.

Fal Fire expects these new services to widen its customer base locally and allow it to reach new customers further afield within the county. The expansion will enable the company to compete locally far more effectively against larger multinational companies which traditionally dominate the alarms industry nationwide, and who are currently actively promoting budget home security. All of this is expected to result in new job opportunities and training in the area.

From Fire Alarm Company to a Parish in the Shetlands  Fal Fire first started trading out of a property in Falmouth as a one man band in 1987. It was joined shortly afterwards by Mark Richardson, now Operations Director, and as it grew, the whole organisation became incorporated and relocated to its present location on Kernick Industrial Estate. There are now 10 full time staff. The original entrepreneur who started the business in now a Salvation Army pastor up in the Shetland isles, serving  a parish spanning many islands and boat journeys.

A Culture of Localism with World-Class Credentials The company has a fundamental culture of localism: keeping the circle of demand and supply between local consumers and local suppliers is vital to keeping money and jobs within the community.  Fal Fire promotes the opportunity to purchase better, locally-supplied goods and services, at better prices with stronger long-term relationships, so the service has to be not just as good, but better in every way. To this end, in order to compete on an equal footing with the larger corporations, and to demonstrate a total commitment to quality, the company has invested heavily in gaining the coveted BAFE SP203 Modular Scheme for Fire Alarms, NICEIC approval and SafeContractor Health and Safety accreditation
