**ALL+ for Emergency in Milan**

MILAN - June 6, 2013 - PRLog -- For the occasion ALL+, the Alluminio Sammarinese brand of aluminium furniture intended for indoor and outdoor public settings, has customised five benches from the Loco collection for Emergency, which will be used to furnish the Palazzo della Ragione venue.

The “La nostra Africa” photo exhibition of Emergency projects in Africa was inaugurated on 22nd May: the pictures were taken at Emergency healthcare Centres in the Central African Republic, in Sierra Leone and in Sudan by three photographers from the “Génération Elili” Congolese collective: Khelly Manou de Mahoungou, Arnaud Makalou and Baudouin Mouanda.

“Africa is a wild continent, which is poor and at war.

In Africa they need vaccinations, rehydration treatments, antibiotics.

Both these sentences tell the truth, but the temptation to simplify is rather tempting.

In Africa we saw malnourishment, malaria, war, and even people busy living with an idea of the future that we've never encountered before.

We used antibiotics, rehydration treatments, paracetamol as well as ultrasonography, fixators, heart valves.

Over the last few years, we have discovered a continent that is much more complex than what the few images shown on the news convey, and we have brought humanitarian aid that is light-years ahead of the imaginary doctor distributing medicine outside a mud hut. We asked young African photographers - who are also known outside the continent - to look at Africa and at our work through their eyes, in complete freedom. They returned a clean picture of both: complex like the material they are faced with, yet without rhetoric and free of stereotypes. Like reality.” (Emergency)
