By: EdgewaterBeach Condo Starting June 6th, the HarborWalk Village will be honoring a local hero each week in the Red, White and Blue Celebration. This begins at 6:30pm and highlights the efforts of people striving to better their community. This event will have live entertainment, kids’ crafts, and will close with a fireworks display over the Destin Harbor. On Sunday, June 9th from 11am to 6pm, Big Kahuna’s Water and Adventure Park will host an annual VIP day. Big Kahuna’s was voted one of the best water parks in America by the Travel Channel with over 40 water attractions including a Honolulu Half Pipe to surf. Tickets for VIP day are $30 and all proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. The Aloha Picnic Buffet will be available from Noon to 2:00pm. “The Annual Old Fashioned Fish Fry” fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 15th from 10am to 3pm. The Destin History and Fishing Museum will host the fundraiser at Harry T’s restaurant in HarborWalk Village. Visitors will enjoy live music and kids’ activities with proceeds from the event to benefit the restoration of the Historic Primrose Vessel, constructed in 1924, and the centerpiece of the Destin History and Fishing Museum. Saturday, June 29th there will be a Craft Beer Tasting at Malibu Jack’s across from Harbor Docks to benefit the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida. Admission is $15 and visitors will enjoy a variety of craft beers, great music and door prizes. Overnight accommodations can be made for visitors in nearby condo rentals.
