NEW YORK - June 5, 2013 - PRLog -- This week “Sportfolio” returns to Bloomberg TV with a wide ranging look at leadership in sport, from brands to government to the NFL. The show was invited to participate in the "Leaders in Performance" summit held at Bloomberg June 4 and 5. The Conference brought together more than 300 leading practitioners in the sports industry.

Jacksonville Jaguars' owner Shahid Khan discusses his strategy to rebuild the organization following a 2-14 season, and his decision to commit to games in London in each of the next four seasons.  Red Bull's High Performance Director Andy Walshe explains the company's dedication to pushing the limits of human performance, and its position in a global sports culture that grapples with issues of performance enhancement.   NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Ray Anderson discusses the "culture change" in pro football that balances maximum performance with maximum safety, and outlines some of the league's new initiatives for preventing and diagnosing head injuries.

While not part of the Conference, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates discusses the importance of sponsorship and outreach through sports as an integral aspect of military recruiting, and some of the fruitful research collaborations between the Department of Defense and sports organizations. He also shares his perspective on governance in college athletics as former President of Texas A&M University.
