MALVERN, Pa. - June 5, 2013 - PRLog -- MALVERN, PA – June 5, 2013 – NetHealth announced today that its PQRSPRO (http://www.pqrspro.com) registry is open and ready – with every available measures group - for data entry! Including support for GPRO reporting and the penalty adjustment avoidance option.

Approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2009 as a participating registry of the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI, now PQRS), the NetHealth, PQRSPRO system simplifies physician reporting of quality measure activity under the CMS PQRS incentive program.

In addition to gaining the .5% incentive on all Medicare charges for the reporting year - and avoiding the 1.5% penalty to be leveraged in 2015 for non-participation in 2013 –PQRSPRO reports and data analysis provide participants with a means for practice review and meaningful quality improvement.

According to Lauren Patrick, President of NetHealth, “We are pleased to offer this level of service and preparedness to our clients and participating clinicians.  Technology, when done well, is integral part of promoting quality improvement in health care both now and in the future.”

The origin of the CMS Physician Quality Reporting System is the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPAA) of 2008, which authorized a 2% bonus incentive for successful reporting of quality measures. Continued and strengthened by the 2010 Affordable Care Act, 2013 is a pivotal year in the evolution of PQRS – with incentives remaining, but also substantial penalties (raising to 2% in 2016 for non-participation in 2014!).  These PQRS incentives and penalties apply to all providers (eligible professionals) with individual NPI numbers and allowed Medicare claims.  In addition to individual registry reporting for EPs, NetHealth's PQRSPRO registry also supports the GPRO reporting option (submitted under one TIN for groups of 2 or more.)

NetHealth’s PQRSPRO (http://www.pqrspro.com/) Registry is the first publicly available registry to offer all 2013 PQRS registry Measures Groups, Specialty Measure Sets and Individual Measures (https://www.pqrspro.com/Measures.aspx). Given the urgency of 2013, it’s a great time to get started now. Don’t wait until the end of the year!!
