Barcelona Acupuncturist Hosts Free Anti Aging Acupuncture Seminar

BARCELONA, Spain - June 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Ex Londoner Ruth Westnidge is fairly sure she is the only doubly qualified London trained Chinese Medical Herbalist, acupuncturist and cosmetic acupuncturist Barcelona city is currently home to.  She is offering her time free of charge to the Barcelona Women’s Network to create a special seminar style workshop all about Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture. The workshop is to be held at her centre at Studio Kinetic, Carrer Muntaner, 382, P2B, 08006 Barcelona, from 11:00 - 13:00 on Friday June 14th 2013. Ruth holds a BSc in Traditional Chinese Medicine (among other qualifications) and runs the Acupuncture Barcelona service from the venue and also has a special interest in Cosmetic Acupuncture. The Barcelona Women’s Network is an organisation composed of international women to hold social and educational events and raise money for charity.

Ruth’s training and experience includes years of acupuncture, Traditional Chinese herbal medicine, and Microsystems ear acupuncture. Her passion for working with the face started when she saw acupuncturists treating facial paralysis in a hospital in Kunming city, South West China.

“The work they were doing was so helpful for patients, they were literally working to restore the face to its normal positioning by using points on the muscles that weren’t working properly due to the facial paralysis. It was impressive and after treating similar cases I began to get very interested in just how wide the scope was to work with the face as an acupuncturist,”

She went onto to train completing three CPD courses in Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture and now works both ‘medical’ and ‘cosmetic’ issues for the face and neck as well as performing all other acupuncture, cupping and moxibustion treatments treats.  

“Cosmetic acupuncture is appropriate for anti aging work, you can look at things like minimising the appearance of wrinkles, crows feet and fine lines. A lot of people come because they feel the face has started ‘sagging’ and they’re looking for a lifting effect. Dark circles around the eyes are also a common theme, with or without ‘puffyness’ around the eye area. Overall it can help you look fresher and more glowing,”
