Hurley Children's Hospital in Flint Wins National $25,000 Speedway Contest!!!!

FLINT, Mich. - June 4, 2013 - PRLog -- FLINT, Michigan −  Pediatric patients at Hurley Children’s Hospital will soon get the chance to enjoy two renovated playrooms, thanks to a contest supported by Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals and Speedway.

The two-week contest awarded $25,000 to one CMN hospital nationwide that garnered the most public votes. Hurley Medical Center finished in first place with 14,465 votes on May 31, 2013.

“Winning this contest is a positive for Hurley Children’s Hospital in so many ways,” said Brian Nolan, MD, Clinical Director of Pediatrics at Hurley Children’s Hospital. “Providing special activities − like Xbox and video games, toys and books are extremely helpful in giving these patients distractions from the many tests and procedures they're going through.”

“I am thrilled to be part of this exciting win for Hurley Children’s Hospital and its pediatric patients,” said Linda Tracy-Stephens, CMN Hospitals Director at Hurley Children’s Hospital. “The support we received from patients, families, physicians, and staff was amazing. Everyone who voted is helping support the vital services Hurley offers its youngest patients as the region's only Children's Hospital.”
