Obama’s BRAIN Initiative paves the way for Nootropic Smart Drugs

June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- President Obama has called for $100 million in federal funding to begin an ambitious initiative to improve our understanding of the human brain. Through the use of brain mapping, scientists hope that tracking activity neuron-by-neuron will revolutionize our understanding of how the brain functions.

The project, officially called Brain Research Through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN), (http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-04-08/national/38369134_1_brain-tissue-brain-research-the-human-brain-project) is the continuation of studies into human function started with the Human Genome Project that gave us a better understanding of DNA structure.

“As humans we can identify galaxies light-years away, study particles smaller than an atom but we still haven’t unlocked the mystery of the three pounds of matter that sits between our ears,” President Obama said.

To create such a map will require tools that can measure the activity of any one of the brain’s tens of billions of neurons, along with any and all neurons it’s connected to. Neuroscientists recently managed something akin to this in zebrafish embryos; but doing the same for a human brain – which contains about 85,000 times more neurons – will require nothing short of a technological revolution in the field of neuroscience.

The BRAIN initiative will strongly emphasize the last letter in its acronym – neurotechnologies.

“Great promise for developing such technologies lies at the intersections of nanoscience, imaging, engineering, informatics, and other rapidly emerging fields of science and engineering,” read a White House statement (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2013/04/02/fac...).

In connection with this revolution will be the continuing advancement of Nootropic Smart Drugs. The rapid growth of the Nootropics market demonstrates the basic human desire to know and understand our own consciousness. Never has the quest for understanding consciousness been more self-evident than at this time in history.

Since 2009, PROFIDERALL has been pioneering the science of Nootropics to help healthy overachievers improve focus and increase concentration. During this time Nootropics have changed the field of cognitive enhancement… most notably with the development of Nootropic Stacks. These scientifically engineered, meticulously refined formulas, like PROFIDERALL’s Cognitive Energy Complex™ (http://www.profiderall.com/how_it_works) are redefining ‘smart drugs’ and increasing their acceptance in both business and academia. This ethical and scientific acknowledgement was achieved, in part, by combining key Nootropic substances clinically recognized to improve creative thinking, information processing, attention, cortical/behavioral arousal, learning and memory with powerful energy compounds to deliver intense focus and incredible energy.

As our understanding of the brain improves, it is informing both the desire for and the science of the development of new cognitive enhancers. PROFIDERALL will continue to be at the forefront of the smart drug revolution… and with the President’s BRAIN initiative it’s certain that breakthroughs will be coming at a much faster pace.
