DENVER - June 2, 2013 - PRLog -- In this digital age when people spend more time interacting with their computers and online profiles than in face-to-face encounters, it would stand to reason that more information and patterns would become discernible within the framework of these platforms.

Parts of the volunteers’ profiles were hidden by the subjects before handing over access to the researchers as it corresponds to the problems with patients’ self reporting she mentions, but it did reveal further information than some initial in office consultations or intake forms might have depending on the patient. Martin and her team found a variety of symptoms including social withdrawal, unusual beliefs, social anhedonia (inability to encounter happiness from normally enjoyable activities), and extraversion. Some of the individuals who had concealed some of their activity were also linked to greater levels of paranoia.
