NEW HOPE, Pa. - June 1, 2013 - PRLog -- May 8, 2013 (NEW HOPE, PA) – Bucks County Gallery of Fine Art Announces Artists Accepted Into This Year's "Local Color Weekend" Plein Air Event

This is the second annual event hosted by gallery owners Edye and Howard Cooperman of the Bucks County Gallery of Fine Art located in New Hope, PA.  We are pleased to announce a list of names of artists juried into this year's event.

Participating artists include: Lauren Andreach, Frank Baggett, Robert J. Barber, Jacalyn Beam, Claudia Brookes, Jeanne Kirby Bruneau, John Caggiano, Tony Conner, Sandra Corpora, Carolyn Edlund, Raymond Ewing, Catherine Hillis, Hai-Ou Hou, Anne Kullaf, Kirk Larsen, Suzanne G. Morris, Jane Ramsey, Pratima Rao, Kerry Sacco, Robert Simone, Yelena Snovsky, Jason Tako, Helena Van Emmerick-Finn, Lynn Whipple, and Marilyn Witt. By popular demand, the paint out has been extended to last six days this year.

The exhibition is an invitational, meaning that the artists were selected from a handpicked group of plein air painters by gallery owner Howard Cooperman, that travel the country to participate in this type of event.

It is not uncommon for each artist to paint a dozen pieces, during the six day paint out. Freshly painted art
will be juried for prizes by Jill A. Rupinski who is a plein air painter herself and teaches at the Pennsylvania
Academy of Fine Art in Philadelphia.

Fellow artists, art enthusiasts, and collectors are encouraged to come out and watch the artists create their paintings any day Tuesday through Saturday evening from 9:00am till 6:00pm. A free map is available at Bucks County Gallery depicting the suggested painting points of interest for the artists. You can request an artist to "personalize" a specific, favorite spot just for you, by contacting the gallery. Call Howard Cooperman for instructions. Artists are not permitted to sell direct to the public at their easel. If you want to purchase art you see being painted, call the gallery immediately before another lucky collector does.
