New Case Study Validates MediPlus Advanced Wound Care Product Positioning and Clinical Usage

New Case Study Validates MediPlus Advanced Wound Care Product Positioning and Clinical Usage
By: MediPurpose™
ATLANTA - May 30, 2013 - PRLog -- MediPurpose™, a manufacturer and master distributor of medical products, today published a case study that revealed additional findings from recent clinical evaluations of several MediPlus™Advanced Wound Care product categories.

In February, MediPurpose published A Case Study of Product Performance From Two Nursing Homes. The study demonstrated that MediPlus wound dressings performed at (or above) the same level as current products being used in nursing homes, and provided evidence of MediPlus’ product efficacy.

Using results from clinical studies at two South Carolina nursing homes the new publication, A Case Study of Product Positioning and Clinical Usage, validates the company’s performance expectations for its wound dressings’ positioning and indications for use.

“The case studies are not intended to simply present data that show that MediPlus dressings can ‘get the job done,’ because the market is already filled with many products that effectively aid in wound healing,” said MediPurpose’s Advanced Wound Care Marketing Manager Valerie Johnson. “Rather, it is designed to position MediPlus’ unique combination of quality and affordability as factors that truly set it apart from the competition.

“Of course there’s nothing new about a manufacturer promoting its products’ value as a preferred feature for the consumer or buyer,” added Johnson. “However, as new healthcare models continue to be driven by both cost and quality, it is imperative that MediPurpose be able to validate its claims for the quality and value of its MediPlus brand.”

Both case studies compared overall clinical functional characteristics of six MediPlus wound dressing categories to current in-use advanced wound care dressings in the alternate site. The wound dressing categories included:

• MediPlus™ Alginates

• MediPlus™ Hydrocolloids

• MediPlus™ Hydrocolloid Foam

• MediPlus™ Super Foams

• MediPlus™ Surgical Composites

• MediPlus™ Transparent PU Films

Key performance characteristics included:

• Edge lift

• Wear time

• Conformability

• Ease of application

• Comfort and ease of removal

• Absorbance and exudate management
