2014 Mazda6 Praised for Design Elegance

The New England Motor Press Association has taken a liking to the Mazda6 and the MX-5 Miata.

BRADENTON, Fla. - May 30, 2013 - PRLog -- It gives Cox Mazda (http://www.coxmazda.com/) great pride to announce that the 2014 Mazda6 is already earning recognition for its elegant construction and design, nabbing the Gene Ritvo award from the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA). Unlike traditional auto awards, this is one built upon vehicle design, allowing concept vehicles to compete alongside production models.

The 2014 Mazda6 was chosen among all entrants by NEMPA, the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, and Boston's Museum of Fine Arts to receive the Gene Ritvo award, receiving praise for it's “soul of motion” design from NEMPA President Keith Griffin. Meghan Melvin of the Museum of Fine Arts applauded the Mazda6's “subtle but distinctive style”

That “soul of motion” design language is actually inspired by the movement of animals in the wild, simultaneously showing off power and agility and giving the vehicle a personality that is virtually unmatched in the auto world.

The Mazda6 is the second vehicle from the automaker to fully embrace their SKYACTIV technology and design, a breakthrough in automotive engineering that is meant to increase a vehicle's fuel efficiency by completely reevaluating the way engines and automobiles are constructed. The basic version of the Mazda6 is rated at 38 highway mpg by the EPA, with the potential for a clean diesel engine option coming later in the year.

The MX-5 Miata was also granted an award for being as simple, pure, and undiluted as a sports car can get, with a two-seater design that defined its segment over twenty years ago and earning it “Favorite Entry-Level Convertible.” Beyond that, the Miata is officially the best-selling two-seat roadster in the world, carrying a place in the Guiness Book of World Records.

Both of these vehicles are available now at Cox Mazda, with the Mazda6 starting at just $20,880. To learn more about these new, award-winning Mazda vehicles, contact Cox Mazda today (http://www.coxmazda.com/email-the-cox-family/).
