Historic Siam Fight Productions Grand Prix Finale Set For June 8

CHANDLER, Ariz. - May 29, 2013 - PRLog -- PHOENIX, AZ, May 29, 2013 – North America’s eight highest-ranked teen Muay Thai fighters entered a historic tournament this past March. This June, the two undefeated combatants left standing will compete for honor, to crown a champion, and to embark on a prestigious international training opportunity.

SIAM FIGHT PRODUCTIONS is proud to host the June 8 finale of the inaugural Siam Cup Junior Muay Thai Grand Prix pitting 8-3 John Bruer against 9-0 Ruben “Tuzo” Cruz at the Tempe Center for the Arts. One young man will walk away with from this first-of-its-kind U.S. amateur junior Muay Thai elimination tournament with a defeat on his record. The other will be awarded the first-ever Siam Cup and a trip for two to Thailand’s Sitsongpeenong Training Camp, one of the world’s premiere institutions for training in one of the world’s oldest martial arts.

“They’re fighting as amateurs, but we’re treating them as pros,” said Siam Fight Productions Executive Vice President Brandon M. Jones, noting that Siam Fight Productions has flown Cruz from Yucatan, Mexico to compete in the premiere Siam Fight Productions event. “There’s no other company that will actually fund getting the kids here to fight.”

Nor is there an organization affording North America’s most gifted Muay Thai practitioners such a valuable instructional opportunity. Located in Bangkok, Thailand, the cradle of the kickboxing discipline known as “The Art of Eight Weapons” worldwide, the training center has developed such fighters as living-legend Kem Sitsongpeenong, the present WMC Super Welterweight World Champion boasting a 117-22 official record.

Accordingly, Sitsongpeenong students train under the guidance of internationally renowned instructors and some of the sport’s highest-ranked fighters in the world.
