Chasen Galleries announced their latest initiative in connecting with art lovers via social media: a photo contest on the massive social network, Facebook. The "What's Over Your Sofa?" contest was conceived as a way to encourage Facebook users to converse with Chasen Galleries and each other about the art they select for their home.
The Facebook contest, in which Chasen Galleries page visitors upload photos of art in their home and then encourage their friends to vote, is an integral part of the galleries' celebration of 30 years in the art industry.
"The 'What's Over Your Sofa?' Facebook contest is a first for us, and for art galleries," said Andrew Chasen, president of Chasen Galleries Fine Art and Glass. "The gallery of images uploaded by our Facebook page 'likes' will serve as a 'virtual gallery' created by collectors-- an important step in both the online world and the art world," he continued.
The contest is scheduled to end on June 20, 2013. At that time, Chasen Galleries will select the winner from the five entries that receive the most votes. The grand prize is a limited edition print. For more information, visit the contest page at https://www.facebook.com/
